It’s all about repairing things together in a fun, friendly atmosphere. At each session there will be tools, materials and skilled volunteers to help. One week it could be clothes, another furniture, electrical appliances, bicycles, crockery, toys, et cetera. .
Those who have nothing to repair can come along to learn a skill, lend a hand with someone else’s repair job or simply enjoy a Fairtrade cup of tea or coffee and snacks.
For those who have a skill to offer it is a chance to promote their business, as well as avoiding waste. Although people will not be charged, people can suggest an appropriate voluntary donation to cover their costs and time.
We will be holding some sessions in the new Bodgers Hut at Stream Walk Gardens and some in other places, such as the Community (back) Room at the Labour Club.
