Whitstable Harbour Consultation

Friday 27 May 4-6pm and 7-9pm at the Castle.
Canterbury City Council is carrying out a review of Whitstable Harbour’s strategic plan. think it’s still fit for purpose and hear your views on how the harbour should look in the years ahead.

Should it focus on maritime-related activities or should there be more emphasis on leisure attractions? Is any housing acceptable on the harbour? What new facilities could the harbour be home to?

We are holding two consultation events on FRIDAY 27 MAY – 4pm-6pm and 7pm-9pm at Whitstable Castle. Each event will start with a 45 minute presentation followed by a question and answer session.

If you are unable to join us we are also happy to take your views via our online consultation pages. For more information on the events and to fill in the survey, please visit

Whitstable Harbour Board will look at all views and discuss any changes to the strategic plan at a future meeting before the final version is agreed at a full council meeting.

Please do pass this on to friends and colleagues.

 Neighbourhood Forum meeting

Monday 25 January 7.30pm at the Coach and Horses pub

If you would like Whitstable people to have a greater say in how our town develops, this is the meeting for you…..I know the evenings are dark and cold and your fireside is always inviting at the end of a busy day, but we can promise you a warm welcome at the Coach and Horses on Monday 25th January from 7.30….

We are just an ordinary bunch of local people who want to develop a Neighbourhood Plan for the central area of Whitstable ….This is part of the Localism Act and means Canterbury City Council has to listen and take heed of the wishes of Whitstable people…..

For this to work, we need to involve people of all ages, interests, and abilities and the first step is to create a Neighbourhood Forum, so if you have a view about Whitstable’s future, please come along and share it with us….
